Prevents acid reflux: Research also show that honey helps to regulate the acid reflux in the stomach and it helps to line it with the esophagus. This thus prevents the upward flow of undigested food and stomach acid.

The upward flow of the stomach acid may cause gastroesophageal reflux disease with signs of heartburn, inflammation and acid reflux.
